BRANSON, Mo. (KY3) - Health departments across the Ozarks team up to recognize World Stroke Day, emphasizing the critical importance of preparation for medical emergencies, especially strokes.

Cox Medical Center Branson responds to more than 1,000 stroke reports each year. The hospital transfers around 10% of those patients to higher-level care facilities, with half admitted for further testing. Experts stress that strokes represent medical emergencies where every second counts.
