Four-time Pro Bowler Roddy White starred at UAB before going on to have an excellent career in the NFL with the Atlanta Falcons.
With the UAB head coaching job now open, White threw his hat into the ring recently and shared that he would like to lead the Blazers program.
"I want the job," Roddy White posted on X earlier this month.
The UAB job is now open after Trent Dilfer, another former NFL player, was fired on Oct. 12.
The coaching change came after UAB got off to a 2-4 start to the 2025 season, including losing 53-33 to Florida Atlantic on Oct. 11.
Alex Mortensen is the interim head coach for the Blazers and led his team to a 31-24 upset victory over Memphis on Oct. 18. The Blazers then had a bye week and will return to action Saturday at UConn.
