FOXBOROUGH - The Patriots were busy Tuesday trading players that didn’t seem to be part of the mix.
Veteran safety Kyle Dugger was dealt to Pittsburgh, while defensive end Keion White was traded to the San Francisco 49ers.
Dugger and a 2026 seventh round pick were sent to the Steelers in exchange for a 2026 sixth-round selection.
White’s trade also involved a 2026 pick swap.
As for the Patriots, while White and Dugger weren’t on the field much, neither the edge rusher, nor safety rooms are particularly flush with depth.
Patriots coach Mike Vrabel was asked about the rationale behind trading both players.
“I think that with just the timing of everything and where we’re at as a team, we felt like it was the right thing to do,” Vrabel said. “We’ve got a lot of guys in that room, and
