PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Newly released court documents are revealing more about a potential motive on what led up to a deadly shooting at a senior living community in west Phoenix over the weekend.

Authorities said 58-year-old Salvador Najera Jr . is accused of murdering 63-year-old Michelle Marie Semenjuk at Phoenix Manor near 43rd Avenue and Thomas Road on Sunday, around 4:40 p.m., which prompted a shelter-in-place for the complex.

According to police, officers arrived to find Semenjuk unconscious but breathing. Around the same time, Najera’s wife walked up to officers and said that her husband had just shot a woman and “was not going to jail.” By that point, Najera ran off in his Toyota Camry.
