CHICAGO (WGN) — A Navy Pier dining experience that forever changed one woman's life has now led to a lawsuit.
Kira Bond, 25, suffered severe burns after being set on fire at the Chicago attraction's Offshore Rooftop restaurant. Bond, who says the pain was nothing like she has ever experienced before – and never wants to experience again - is one of five people named as plaintiffs in the suit.
"I had just started this job a few weeks before the accident, so not ideal to get set on fire in front of your coworkers," the 25-year-old Bond said.
The date was Wednesday, Sept. 24, and Bond's new bosses at Nuveen, a global investment management firm, had organized a company gathering. Bond and others were at a food station at Offshore Rooftop when, according to the lawsuit, a Maverick Management
