GREENVILLE, S.C. —

Nearly 11% of South Carolinians rely on food stamps to stretch their budgets and fill their tables, but with SNAP benefits ending on Saturday, Nov. 1, food pantries in the region are already feeling the strain.

Triune Mercy Center in Greenville is facing bare shelves as they try to restock as often and quickly as possible.

Associate Director Patricia Parker said, "People are starting to panic. There are people that, you know, they're only bringing in a thousand dollars a month, and they still have kids. And they really don't know how they're going to make ends meet."

Ashleigh Durham is homeless. "I'm stressed. But I know, I feel a lot better because I have all these people at Triune to help me. They've helped me a lot," she said.
