LONDON, Ky. (WKYT) -London Mayor Randall Weddle says he will seek re-election in 2026 despite being impeached and removed from office by the city council in recent months.

Weddle will face competition from at least one challenger. Matt Orr, who has worked in real estate and coal, says he will file papers to seek the mayor’s office.

“We have a lot of work still to do in the city. Four years is not enough to get that work done,” Weddle said.

Orr said he was motivated to run after attending recent city council meetings.

“If you’re the mayor you have to navigate stuff like that. But when I got there it was a circus,” Orr said.
