EAST WINDSOR, Conn. — Amid a statewide issue of drivers passing stopped school buses, East Windsor police are cracking down even more on violators who put children's lives in safety.
The town's police department wants to make it clear that those who are caught running a school bus stop sign will receive a ticket, not a warning.
"That's a punishable offense, I believe up to about $500. It's a very hefty fine. But you know, it's a very avoidable violation. You know, pay attention, don't be on your phone, slow down, be cognizant of your surroundings," said Deputy Chief Ben Murphy of the East Windsor Police Department.
