LONGBOAT KEY, Fla. ( WWSB ) - The town of Longboat Key celebrated the completion of its newest environmental project, a living seawall.
The Sarasota Bay Estuary Program states that the living seawall is part of a commitment to continue improving water quality and expanding marine habitats along the Suncoast.
The town of Longboat Key says that the completion of the living seawall is one more step toward the sustainability and stewardship of Sarasota Bay.
“The living seawall is more than a structure; it is a promise that we will continue to care for the bay that gives us so much. Each project like this builds resilience. It improves the habitat and brings us closer to a shared goal, a cleaner, healthier, shared Sarasota Bay,” Longboat Key Commissioner Gary Coffin said.
