WETHERSFIELD, Conn — Earlier this month , a new Connecticut law went into effect making it more difficult for companies to tow cars and easier for drivers to get their cars back if they end up on a lot.
As part of that legislation, the Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles proposed a 13.5% increase over the next three years for the cost of towing.
However, representatives from the towing industry say that's not enough.
The 13.5% increase wouldn't happen all at once. It would go up by 4.5% every year for the next three years.
