IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG) - Iowa men’s wrestling finished fourth in the country last year in the NCAA Tournament as a team, but expectations are higher for this season.
“We’ve got to win. Is that too hard too much pressure? We’ve got to win,” said Tom Brands.
The Hawkeyes have set ambitious goals for the upcoming season.
“Our goal this year is to win a team title, win the Big Ten title, and bring home 10 individual national titles. That’s what the philosophy has always been. That’s what it will continue to be. Is that a lofty expectation? Yeah, but is this team capable? I guess we’ll find out,” said heavyweight Easton Fleshman.
The Hawkeyes will see how good they are early. On November 15th and 16th, they’ll be competing in the National Duals tournament in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
