MINNEAPOLIS — Early in the second half, Esko’s Hannah Rautell fired a shot past Providence Academy goalkeeper Audrey Steeves in the Class A girls soccer semifinal Wednesday at U.S. Bank Stadium.

The goal got Esko on the board and cut the lead to 2-1, but the Lions had the answer: Maddyn Greenway.

After carefully keeping Greenway from getting the ball for much of the first half, the senior found the ball in space and did what she did best. Greenway fired a shot past Esko goalie Hannah Roemer.

Esko was able to limit any further damage from Greenway, who scored 61 goals this season — most in Minnesota regardless of class — but each time she got loose, the Lions scored a goal in a 3-1 win.
