MADISON, Wis. — The Madison School Board has approved the fall budget for the Madison Metropolitan School District, totaling roughly $668 million.
“The district is in very good financial standing,” said Bob Soldner, assistant superintendent of financial services for MMSD.
The budget includes investments in K-5 reading materials and expanded mental health supports, among other priorities.
“We have projects in the pipeline that will be completed this year,” Soldner said.
For homeowners, the budget means the owner of an average Madison home will see an increase of about $684 on their property tax bill. However, that number drops when factoring in the state’s school levy tax credit.
