SCARBOROUGH, Maine — This weekend, Mainers lost local theater legend Karmo Sanders.

Many of you may know her as "The Marden's Lady," infamous for her pizazz and funky outfits, while captivating TV viewers across the state in countless advertisements for the discount giant.

Sanders passed away Sunday, Oct. 26, at her home in Scarborough. She was 74 years old.

A true performer through and through, Sanders spent her life creating art as an actress, writer, producer, comedian, and teacher.

"Karmo was one of a kind. Very funny, loving, and a real character. She was always the life of the party!" Good Theater Artistic Director Brian Allen told NEWS CENTER Maine.
