A 41-year-old man who served time for the 2007 killing of a Dorval teenager has been re-arrested after months on the run from parole authorities.

James Gould was taken into police custody Tuesday night in front of an apartment building in Montreal’s Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce borough.

Police say Gould had been the subject of an arrest warrant, as well as a suspension and reincarceration order since August.

Gould had a firearm in his possession and attempted to resist arrest, says Montreal police (SPVM), who add that he was subdued by the SPVM’s tactical squad.

Gould appeared in Montreal court on Wednesday to face charges of unauthorized possession of a firearm and receiving stolen goods. He remains in custody and will be handed over to prison authorities. He has been reincarce
