TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - The Florida education commissioner blasted a Leon County school board member for his comments on Charlie Kirk .
Anastasios Kamoutsas spoke at Tuesday night’s board meeting and asked the board to hold Darryl Jones accountable.
“Board member Darryl Jones has shown a disturbing willingness to engage in political theater to appease political fanatics and has encouraged teachers in Leon County to do the same,” Kamoutsas said.
We reported last month that Jones called Charlie Kirk a quote “racist, misogynist, homophobic klansman.”
He posted that comment on social media after Kirk’s murder.
He also criticized Kamoutsas for condemning anyone who commented on the murder.
Many residents spoke out about Jones’ comment at last night’s school board meeting -
