SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - Fall will fall upon our area on Thursday as the first big cold front of the season will bring in some crisp autumn air.
We are expecting the front to move through our area late tonight bringing a slight chance for a few showers as it passes. The rain chance is low at 20%. It will turn windy on Thursday blowing from the NW and ushering in some dry cool air.
Beach goers beware as the National Weather Service has put out a statement indicating that rip currents could develop as a result of the strong NW winds picking up through the day on Thursday.
A small craft advisory is in effect for coastal water and intercoastal waterways with winds expected to be out of the NW at 15-20 knots in the morning picking up to 20-25 knots by the afternoon. Seas will building to 5-7
