What’s old is new again at Edmonton City Hall as eight returning councillor names — and a mayor who served three terms as a city councillor — take seats at the council table this month.

The new city council was officially sworn in at a ceremony held at city hall on Wednesday.

The current council features four rookies and is tasked with issues that have been around for years but have intensified with Edmonton's unprecedented growth: how to do things like fix and expand roads while keeping tax increases low.
