MEDINA, Ohio -- Spring Grove Cemetery may house the dead, but it’s also brimming with life, thanks to the more than 80 species of trees that dot the grounds.
The Friends of the Cemetery held their sixth annual Arboretum Walk at the cemetery Oct. 28, on a lovely fall afternoon.
Chad Clink, master arborist from Bartlett Tree Experts, led 50 walkers -- and five dogs -- on a tour of the cemetery arboretum.
As the first and only arboretum in Medina County, it is a partnership between the Friends of the Cemetery and the City of Medina.
Over 600 trees in the collection represent 80-plus species. Plans are in place to reach 100 species in the near future.
