OBERLIN, La. (KPLC) - A family is desperate for answers after their grandfather’s grave was destroyed at Oberlin Cemetery.
The heartbroken family says they are so desperate for answers that they’re offering a cash reward.
Troy Meaux’s grandfather died over 50 years ago and was laid to rest at Oberlin Cemetery.
On Tuesday, Oct. 28, he received a call from a family friend saying his grandfather’s resting place was destroyed.
“She was walking around and saw the gravesite and contacted me and told me that my grandfather’s gravesite was vandalized severely,” Meaux said.
He and his family could not believe the news.
“I had a range of emotions from sadness to anger,” Meaux said.
Meaux’s father immediately sprang into action and got his dad’s grave site fixed.
