CHEYENNE — Four months after the death of local pilot and Airtime Aerial owner Kevin Hefley, authorities determined the man who shot him acted in self-defense and will not face criminal charges.
The 52-year-old was shot in self-defense June 24, in the 1200 block of County Road 157, by Patrick Gross after Gross was attacked repeatedly by Hefley, according to a news release emailed to the Wyoming Tribune Eagle on Wednesday.
Hefley was a local businessman and crop-dust pilot. His company, Airtime Aerial, is a Wyoming-based aerial application company that serves seven states, according to its Instagram account. It was registered in Pine Bluffs in 2016. He was married to professional barrel racer Christine Hefley.
