CHEYENNE — Cheyenne City Council members approved a resolution allowing Mayor Patrick Collins to enter a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with nearby counties and cities regarding how to divide up roughly $12 million in impact funds associated with the Chugwater Energy wind project.
The council discussed the resolution at a meeting Monday. The impacted areas include Laramie, Platte and Goshen counties, and the towns of Wheatland and Chugwater.
The Chugwater Energy wind project is a wind farm proposed by NextEra Energy that will be built in Platte County, east of Chugwater and Interstate 25, and spans approximately 49,500 acres.
NextEra submitted its permit application to the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality’s Industrial Siting Division (ISD) in early September, which include
