SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - A public forum was held in Springfield on Wednesday night for municipal candidates ahead of the upcoming elections.
The event, organized by the Forest Park Civic Association, provided candidates with a platform to address voters and discuss key city issues.
"We feel it's our responsibility as voters to pick representatives who can represent our point of view," said Beate Bolen, president of the Forest Park Civic Association.
Candidates running for Ward 6 and Ward 3 City Council, at-large City Council, and District 3 School Committee participated in the forum.
The forum allowed voters to meet the candidates and engage in discussions about city issues such as litter and the potential construction of a biomass plant.
