LAS VEGAS ( FOX5 ) — The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department posted on social media, warning residents of a “convincing and alarming” scam.
Police say people may get a phone call spoofing Metro police’s non-emergency number, 702-828-3111. The voice may identify themselves as a captain, or another law enforcement position with an official-sounding title or division.
The caller claims a “no call, no show,” or they’re requesting money. Police say they may make threats of arrest if the person does not pay immediately.
