LYON COUNTY, Nev. (KOLO) - A Yerington High School student is in the Juvenile Probation Department after allegedly threatening to “shoot up the school” on Wednesday, Oct. 29, according to a Lyon County Sheriff’s Department news release.
At 2:39 p.m., school administrators reported a potential threat of violence made by a student toward the school.
According to school officials, multiple students reported hearing another student express intentions to “shoot up the school,” the release said.
Deputies responded promptly to the student’s home where they spoke with the youth and a parent.
The student initially denied making the comments, but later admitted to having done so, according to the release.
