EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - The Vanderburgh County Democratic Party announced the Evansville City Council Second Ward vacancy has been through caucus filled Rita Taylor.

They say Taylor is an seasoned political strategist as well as an educator and author with two decades of experience advancing equity, education and empowerment.

According to the press release, Taylor has worked as a teacher, facilitator and curriculum designer, and she has degrees in organizational management and behavioral science.

Taylor has served as executive director and board president of local organizations as well as a Racial and Social Justice Organizer.

They say she also worked as an international missionary.
