MINNEAPOLIS — On Nov. 1, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits are expected to end for millions across the country as funding runs dry during the ongoing federal government shutdown. In response, several Twin Cities restaurants and businesses are stepping up to offer free or discounted food to those in need.

Believing in the power of people is what Brian Ingram said drives his restaurants, including Hope Breakfast Bar locations across the Twin Cities.

"People over profits," Ingram, founder of Purpose Driven Restaurants, said. "We just want to feed any family that has a need."
