Bengaluru South Police have arrested a couple for allegedly murdering a gig worker and staging it as a road accident. The incident took place on October 25, when gig worker Darshan was killed and his friend Varun injured after a car chased and rammed their two-wheeler in the Sri Rama Temple area.
On the night of the incident, around 11:30 pm, a speeding car rammed into a two-wheeler from behind, killing the rider, Darshan, on the spot and seriously injuring his friend Varun, who was riding a pillion.
The case was initially registered as an accidental death at the JP Nagar Traffic Police Station. However, upon reviewing CCTV footage, investigators discovered that the car had deliberately followed and rammed the two-wheeler, suggesting a premeditated act rather than an accident.
