The investigation of financial irregularities at Lucas Metropolitan Housing has clearly consumed much of the managerial time and attention. That’s the main revelation from the LMH response to Blade Reporter Alex Bracken’s public record request.
More than 1,000 pages of mostly redacted records and 124 citations claiming exemptions from the Ohio Public Records Act were produced in response to The Blade request for communication and records regarding the LMH investigation into Shimeako Cole, former chief financial officer at the housing agency.
Ms. Cole was placed on paid administrative leave in mid-July when details of a state and federal investigation of multiple payments to a vendor, ultimately linked to Ms. Cole, became public. She resigned effective July 31.
