With the government shutdown approaching one month, major disruptions are expected to begin — especially in relation to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, aka SNAP .
With the end of SNAP benefits just around the corner, those involved with food banks, community centers and other local organizations are preparing to provide extra food assistance. Additional options for children in school or elderly people who can’t travel much may also be available.
The following are some of the available programs in South Jersey.
Please note that at this time, some distribution center staff may be asking people to bring their SNAP card. Most food pantries require some sort of identification.
