Shankar Parida, a veteran BJP leader and celebrated poet from Odisha, died while receiving treatment at AIIMS Bhubaneswar.

His daughter announced the news on social media, sharing that he passed away peacefully with his wife and two daughters by his side.

Earlier, Parida underwent treatment in Mumbai before doctors shifted him to Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar. As his condition deteriorated, he moved to AIIMS for advanced care. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to lung cancer after months of struggle.
