SHREVEPORT, La. – The Shreveport Fire Department responded to a house fire in the 2900 block of Nena Street in the MLK neighborhood Wednesday night.
Shortly after 7 p.m., crews arrived to find heavy smoke and flames coming from the roof of a single-story, wood-framed residence. The fire was brought under control about 7:40 p.m.
Fortunately, the residents were able to safely evacuate the home before fire crews arrived, and no injuries were reported to either residents or firefighters.
The home sustained heavy damage to the roof and attic, along with extensive smoke damage to the interior. The origin and cause of the fire remain under investigation.
