This week, Dictionary.com released its “ Word of the Year ” for 2025. And this year’s pick turned out to be a viral phenomenon.
To be exact, the phrase “67″ ( read: “six-seven” ) was picked, having seen a dramatic surge in online searches over the summer.
“Since June, those searches have increased more than sixfold, and so far, the surge shows no signs of stopping,” the website reads. “Most other two-digit numbers had no meaningful trend over that period, implying that there is something special about 67.”
