POUGHKEEPSIE – Members of houses of worship, parishioners, and community members joined law enforcement in Poughkeepsie this week to discuss safety at houses of worship and how they can be improved.
Dutchess County Sheriff Kirk Imperati, DA Anthony Parisi, and the Dutchess County Association of Chiefs of Police, under President Joe Cavalieri, the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Chief, joined forces to present the “Interfaith Houses of Worship Safety Summit.”
The topics all tied into FAITH (Facing Active Incident Threats in Houses of worship), according to DA Parisi, whose office gave a presentation on hate crimes, explaining how his office is ready to prosecute those committing hate crimes to the fullest extent of the law.
