KINGSTON— The Ulster County Industrial Development Agency has approved tax abatements and a payment-in-lieu-of-taxes (PILOT) agreement to help Seed Song Farm & Center, operating as Hudson Valley Seed Company, move forward with its $2 million expansion in the Town of Rochester.

The board voted unanimously to approve a package including sales- and mortgage-tax abatements and a 15-year property-tax PILOT to ease construction costs for the farm’s second phase — a 10,000-square-foot headquarters building at its 107-acre property on Airport Road in Accord.

“They made a crucial difference in our ability to do this,” Seed Song Farm’s company Director of Human Resources and Development Carrie Schapker Carrie Schapker told Mid-Hudson News.
