Who can forget the great Halloween scandal of 2019?

Back then, a weather warning led to a suggestion from Montreal Mayor Valérie Plante and the mayors of many other Quebec cities that parents put off Halloween for a day to avoid heavy rain and strong winds. The warning was ridiculed on social media and gave rise to online fights among parents that lasted for days.

A rainfall warning is in effect again this year, effective from Thursday through Friday. It calls for rainfall amounts of 40 to 60 millimetres and moderate to strong winds across southern, central and eastern Quebec.

The heaviest of the rainfall should be over “late in the day Friday,” according to Environment Canada.

Expect a high on Thursday of 6 C and an overnight low of 7 C.
