A group of prominent business leaders has endorsed mayoral candidate Soraya Martinez Ferrada of Ensemble Montréal.

In an open letter, the signatories — which include SSENSE CEO Rami Atallah , Aldo CEO David Bensadoun, Stephen Bronfman, France Chrétien Desmarais and Mitch Garber — say they believe the city has “lost some of its shine” over the past eight years.

“Montreal should be thriving. It should be a city where families can afford to live, where businesses grow, and where creativity and energy fill our streets once again. It should be a place where people feel safe, where opportunity is real, and where the world looks to us with admiration. To get there, we need leadership that unites, that listens and that leads with both compassion and conviction,” the letter reads.
