CLEVELAND, Ohio — As the looming risk of millions of Americans losing SNAP benefits due to the ongoing government shutdown grows, many folks in Northeast Ohio are left without necessary aid to feed their families.

The Greater Cleveland Food Bank is one of Northeast Ohio’s biggest resources, partnering with more than 1,000 local organizations to provide hot meals, food pantries and mobile pickup for folks in need. Local leaders are expecting the need to outweigh the capacity of local safety nets, which could force agencies to either turn away hungry families or further ration their supplies.
