Payments worth up to £300 will begin landing in bank accounts of state pensioners from Saturday, November 1.
This year's Winter Fuel Payments will start being handed out to eligible households.
They are worth either £200 or £300 depending on age, with over-80s getting the higher amount.

Around nine million pensioners will receive the winter allowance this year following changes to eligibility rules.
The money is designed to help some of the poorest pensioners keep their homes warm during the cold winter months.
Retirees will qualify if they have an annual income below £35,000.
