POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Hyde Park man was arrested for alleged attempted robbery in Poughkeepsie. Andrew Kosmider, 25, was charged with third-degree attempted robbery, first-degree unlawful imprisonment, and endangering the welfare of a child.
The Poughkeepsie Police Department said Kosmider allegedly followed a 15-year-old girl on South White Street on Monday, placing his hand over her mouth and attempting to pull her into an alley. Officers reported that the teen was able to scream and get the attention of a bystander who was able to intervene and flag down law enforcement.
According to the police, they were able to locate Kosmider in the area and take him into custody without incident. A motive has not been released and police ask anyone who may have information regarding thi
