HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) - Another Tri-State restaurant is stepping up to help out.
On its Facebook page, the Taco John's on St. Joe Avenue in Evansville posted it will offer a free meal to anyone in need while SNAP benefits are unavailable.
The post says to simply stop in the store and ask for the "community special". It will include a bean or beef burrito and a side of Potato Oles. The offer is available to anyone in need, no questions asked.
"Our number one job is to feed the community," the post said. "We are going to make sure that everybody can have a hot meal no matter what."
This comes after both Wonder Whip locations in Owensboro announced it will offer grilled cheese kid's meals at no charge beginning on Saturday until SNAP benefits are reinstated.
