CHERYL Poole-Albert had a gory activity on her to-do list when she retired from 40 years of nursing.
The grandmother of eight from Brentwood wanted to transform into a zombie and dance the “Thriller” dance.
“I retired in June and here we are,” said Poole-Albert, speaking with fake blood dribbling down the side of her face and wearing a partially shredded dress.
She was among more than two dozen zombies who joined Exeter’s version of the dance of the undead first performed in 1983 by Michael Jackson for a music video promoting his No. 1 album of the same name. The dance has been performed annually in Exeter for almost 15 years and always benefits a local charity. This year, funds raised went toward the scholarship fund at the Exeter Area YMCA.
