OMAHA, Neb. —
Road work and lane restrictions have been happening on both directions of Interstate 480 over the Missouri River since the fall of last year.
The project there involves repairing the bridge, creating a drainage system and updating lighting.
The Nebraska Department of Transportation, which is managing the project, shared an updated timeline with KETV.
NDOT says right before Thanksgiving, lane restrictions will be picked up. This is only temporary.
Since work on the road cannot be done in the cold and snowy months, NDOT will remove all restrictions for winter.
In spring 2026, road work will resume. The project as a whole is anticipated to be complete on Nov. 1, 2026.
