The Greater Baton Rouge State Fair has rescheduled two events that were postponed due to last Sunday's inclement weather.
The High School Volunteer Award Ceremony is now scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, and the Lego Extravaganza will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 2, the organization said.
The two events originally were scheduled for Oct. 26, but the organization opted to close the fair after two rounds of heavy rain made grounds too wet to park vehicles and operate rides.
The 11-day. fair, which opened on Oct. 23, will run through Sunday, Nov. 2. The event has been a regional tradition since 1965. It’s run by volunteers, and all fair proceeds go to scholarships and local causes, with $5 million contributed through the fair’s foundation since 1987.
