The Mavericks’ frontcourt just took a huge hit, folks. During their game with the Indiana Pacers, the NBA veteran Anthony Davis sparked an injury scare, having exited early with what the team later called left lower leg soreness.
The injury happened late in the first quarter when Davis landed awkwardly on his left leg after a floating jumper. He tried to shake it off but was clearly in pain, limping toward the bench before heading to the locker room for evaluation.
Despite being listed as questionable to return, he never reentered. In just seven minutes, he posted 4 points, 4 rebounds, and a steal – kind of a short but telling glimpse of how much the Mavs lean on him.
“Left lower leg soreness. He tried to return. Didn’t want to take any chances, so we’ll see how he feels going forward,”
