MONROE, La. (KNOE) - Morehouse Parish School Superintendent Jesse Winston Jr. confirms students at Bastrop High School were sent home early Thursday morning (Oct. 30) after the school received a phone call regarding a bomb threat.
Winston confirms students were sent home out of an abundance of caution. He adds, authorities have conducted a sweep of the school, did not find anything and have deemed the school as safe.
Officials also confirm a separate incident that occurred on Wednesday, Oct. 29.
A random search and safety check was being conducted at Bastrop High around 8:30 a.m.
Winston says school administration notified him that they received information that a student had a gun on campus.
