Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma on Thursday announced the Chief Minister’s Mission of 100% Toilets, aimed at ensuring that every school in the state has toilets with water supply, while stressing that the education sector is transitioning into a more structured and organised system.

Speaking at the inauguration of the MPOWER Education Conclave 2025, organised in collaboration with the Department of Education, Sangma said the government is rationalising schools and assets, reducing institutional categories, and laying the foundation for long-term transformation in education.

MPOWER Meghalaya is a World Bank-supported, government-led initiative designed to enhance the well-being, empowerment, and resilience of adolescents aged 9–19.
