A Clydebank community is 'shocked' following the news that a popular pub owner has passed away.

Tributes have been paid to the 'lovely' Bernie McDermott, owner of Bernie’s Bar. With a 'heavy heart', the team at the Mountblow venue announced her death on October 28, asking customers to "bare with them".

Hundreds of locals have flooded social media with kinds words over the past couple days. Bernie has been remembered as a "beautiful lady" who always made punters "feel welcome".

Posting to Facebook the team wrote: "It is with heavy heart & great sadness we announce the passing of our queen, Our Bernie. Please bare with us for now, but we wanted you to hear it from us.

"Us here at Team B are devastated at the sudden loss and shock and are trying to come to terms with it."
