The mum of a Glasgow teen who was born with hearing loss has thanked the NHS for helping her boy hear again.

Scott McAdam, now 17, was diagnosed with hearing loss following his newborn screening test at just a day old. At 12 weeks old, he was fitted with hearing aids after a follow-up found he had bilateral profound hearing loss.

The youngster received weekly speech and language therapy visits at home, in addition to monthly audiology appointments. The support enabled him to attend a Glasgow City Council nursery twice a week before progressing to a mainstream school.
