The province’s Special Investigations Unit has cleared a Brantford Police officer of any wrongdoing in the arrest of a man.

Officers responded to the Pioneer Gas station at Wayne Gretzky Parkway and Henry Street at about 7 a.m. on July 1, 2025, after receiving a call about a man with a knife who was threatening customers near the gas pumps.

When police arrived, the suspect was located walking on a paved walkway on the west side of Wayne Gretzky Parkway, south of Henry Street, and was seen folding the knife and putting it in his pants pocket.
